Police Community Review Commission |

The PCRC receives sworn complaints of
perceived police misconduct, holds executive meetings or
public hearings where necessary, issues recommendations and makes reports to the
city council, mayor and chief of
police as is appropriate for each complaint.
The commission consists of seven
members who hold staggered terms of two years each. (Four members served an
initial three-year term to facilitate the practice of staggered
terms. The three year term members shall be designated by lottery.
Subsequently, those four or the remaining three positions shall be
filled every other year.) Members may serve no more than two
consecutive terms.
Under city ordinance, the Commission shall receive sworn complaints of perceived
police misconduct, hold executive meetings or public hearings where necessary, issue
recommendations and make reports to the city council, mayor and chief of police. It is also to
issue a written annual report on all complaints received.
