Land Subdivision Meeting

  • 1:30 p.m. first Thursday of the month @ Lincoln Library Carnegie Room South

Regional Planning Commission Meeting

  • 9:30 a.m. third Wednesday of the month @ County Board Chambers of Sangamon County Building

Planning and Zoning Commission

Citizens Police Academy

Crime Stoppers

  • Sangamon-Menard Counties.   Rewards for tips that lead to an arrest.  Call 788-8234 (Sangamon Co.) 788-8427 (Menard Co.)

Neighborhood Association

  • For more information on existing associations or the procedures for establishing a new neighborhood association call the Regional Planning Commission - 535-3110.

Historic Sites Commission

  • 4:00 p.m. Second Monday of each month @ Office of Planning & Economic Development, 800 E. Monroe, Room 107.

Neighborhood Watch Program

  • A crime prevention program that enlists neighbors helping neighbors to reduce crime in their neighborhood.  Also discusses ways and methods to make your residence more secure through better lighting, better locks and other crime prevention tips

Neighborhood Association Meetings

  • Springfield Police Field Operations Division would like to attend all neighborhood association meetings in order to better understand and respond to public safety problems within your neighborhood.  The Police Department will have the beat officer and supervisor attend your meeting.

Community Policing

  • Springfield Police Field Operations Division responds to most calls for police services and uses Community Policing -- Problem Solving techniques.  If you would like more information about Community Policing, the name of your neighborhood police officer or the name of your beat lieutenant, call the on duty lieutenant at 788-8333.

Citizen Ride-a-long

  • The Springfield Police Department Field Operations Division oversees the ride along program.  Citizens are allowed to ride with  on duty officers to better understand the police mission.  Citizens can ride for up to four hours at various times of the day and night.  Deputy Chief - Field Operations at 788-8330 for an application.

Springfield City Council

  • 6:00 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month @ third floor Municipal Center West
         (Second meeting of the month also considers zoning issues.)
