Springfield Pollice Department Officers

Office of Homeland Security

Robert Williams 217.788.8366

Robert Williams coordinates all public safety and private entities as it relates to the handling of extra-ordinary events within the City of Springfield.

He works to create partnerships by conducting collaborative planning meetings with the public safety, health and business communities focusing on Threat Assessment, Prevention and Preparedness of all emergency services within the City. The office has implemented training and education programs, and public awareness campaigns on major incidents.

Other areas of concern include developing and promoting appropriate prevention measures to respond to major incidents, to review existing programs, and to provide a forum with which to get policy makers, the business community, citizens and the media to collaborate with related issues.

The Department has just completed the City's Emergency Operations Plan, which details how first responders will deal with a variety of emergencies.
