CITY
TREASURER ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM
|
Springfield City Treasurer Jim
Langfelder announced today the placement
of parking ticket payment boxes in the
downtown Springfield area. These
courtesy payment boxes offer a
convenient, fast and efficient method to
pay parking fines.
"I know from personal experience that
getting a parking ticket is
frustrating," said Treasurer Langfelder.
"But, what is more aggravating is not
paying the parking ticket within 14 days
so the fine doubles."

|
"in an effort to make it more convenient
to pay parking tickets on time, we are
installing courtesy payment boxes,"
The distinctive green metal boxes will
be marked "Parking Ticket Payments."
The four locations are 1st & Edwards,
2nd & Monroe, 4th & Washington, and 7th
& Mason.
To pay a parking ticket, a person places
a check along with the parking violation
in the envelope provided and deposits it
into one of the green boxes. No
postage is required, and boxes are
emptied daily.
Cash payments may still be made in
person at Room 104 Municipal Center West
or deposited at the CWLP Drive-up window
located between the Lincoln Library Main
Branch and the Municipal center West.
Also available for parking patrons is
the convenient pre-paid cash key for
parking meters. A $20.00
refundable deposit is required to secure
the cash key. Parking time ranging
from $10 to $100 may be purchased.
Cash keys are available in room 207
Municipal center West.
