Clark Bullard
designed the unique French Colonial, grand house for
Henson Langdon Robinson in 1930. It overlooks the now
Pasfield Park Golf Course.
Bullard built a
space-efficient house of 4 stories staggered, all
wrapped around a central stair system. The structure is
solid brick, with a short plaster and timber extension
to the kitchen. The interior walls are plaster and all
are bearing walls. Storage space is tucked under the
eves with many bureaus built in. There are no hallways
in the house, only landings.
The interior doors are made from ash
trees and the floors are made from fir trees. The solid
oak front door is sheathed in quilted copper. The roof
is slate and the gutters are copper. This house was
custom built and is unlike any other structure in this
era.
