In an effort to clear out the former West Branch Library building at 1251 W. Washington, Lincoln Library staff will hold a sale of books and materials on March 31, and April 1 & 2. The building is being readied for use by other city agencies.

These books and materials are essentially duplicates of items already available to the public at the Lincoln Library’s main facility at Seventh and Capitol. Only books, paperback books, books-on-tape, VHS tapes, CDs and DVDs will be sold. Furniture and shelving will not be for sale to the public.

The hours of the sale will be from 10 am - 5 pm on each of three days, Thursday, March 31, Friday April 1 and Saturday, April 2.

Items will be priced as follows:

• adult hardback books $3

• children’s hardback books $2

• paperbacks $1

• oversized paperbacks $2

• books-on-tape $1

• VHS tapes $1

• CDs $2

• DVDs $2.

Furniture and shelving at the West Branch will not be sold to the public, but will be reused by other departments within the City of Springfield.
