Business Licensing

The Office of Business Licensing handles taxicab and taxi driver permitting, liquor, and business licenses. For more complete information about our licensing procedures, we encourage you to review our City Code on Licensing.

Springfield City Code on Licensing

Once you have downloaded the appropriate form found below, please complete and bring it to the Office of Business Licensing located at 800 E. Monroe, 1st Floor. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in order to complete the application process.

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement Prosecutes all City Code violations including building, zoning, housing, fire safety code violations in Administrative Court and/or Circuit Court actions.

Administrative Court cases are heard on scheduled Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers. Two hearings are held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in the City Council Chambers as scheduled.

Hours by Appointment: Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Walk in Hours: Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. & Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
