Now Hiring Police Officers

City Budget Hearings
The City of Springfield’s fiscal year runs March 1 thru February 28. The City concluded its department Budget Hearings. The next step is to discuss any amendments to the proposed budget. Amendments will be presented at the February 14 Committee of the Whole meeting. Then the final vote will take place at the February 21 City Council meeting. Residents may sign-up to speak at either meeting.

Ward Map
The Municipal Election takes place in April of 2023 and is the same time the new City of Springfield Ward Map will go into effect. These means some residents Wards will change. There are 10 Wards in the City and each Ward is represented by an Alderman or Alderwoman. To view your current Ward - being represented by the current City Council - please click the first button. The second button is the new Ward Map in which will be reflected on your April ballot.

Local Warming Centers
The City of Springfield has compiled a list of warming locations across the community. If you need relief from the cold temperatures, these businesses are allowing individuals the opportunity to come in and warm up. Overnight shelter is offered every evening at 221 N. 11th Street.

: some locations will have modified hours due to the upcoming New Year’s holiday.
