City of Springfield AmeriCorps Program


   Who We Are 

The City of Springfield AmeriCorps Program works with several partner agencies in the community including:

   As an AmeriCorps Member, you will: 

  • Mentor youth to encourage them to stay in school
  • Prepare youth for their future role in the workforce
  • Provide technology to low-income community members
  • Support and grow programs at the above mentioned partner sites

City of Springfield AmeriCorps members are making a difference and getting things done in Springfield!

   Your Own Journey 

The City of Springfield AmeriCorps Program takes a special interest in personal and professional development opportunities for our Members. AmeriCorps members are scheduled to attend several leadership development courses, trauma informed care training, and volunteer recruitment and management training throughout their year of service. Additional online training opportunities and one-on-one sessions are available to members.

Member qualifications include:

  • High school or GED diploma
  • Ability to commit to 900 hours of service
  • Ability to support program staff and administrative staff in duties as appropriate and necessary
  • Ability to behave in a friendly and professional manner

   Benefits of AmeriCorps 

The City of Springfield AmeriCorps Program AmeriCorps members receive a stipend for their term of service. Upon successful completion of your term of service, you will receive the Segal Education Award which can be used to repay student loans, help pay for college, graduate school, or vocational training.
