Summary of Board
Board consist of a 9 member board with three-year term; appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the city council. The board of trustees shall have all of the powers of a board of library trustees under the Illinois Local Library Act, Illinois Revision Statutes, Chapter 81, S1-0.1, et seq., except as modified by the federal consent decree and ordinance establishing the mayor/aldermanic form of government for the City of Springfield. Pursuant to the 1988 City of Springfield Code of Ordinances, Ch 33 Sec 33.002(d) No person shall be appointed to an office for more than three consecutive terms.
