Summary of Board
The board will consist of 17 members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. 3 members shall come from the hotel/motel association and industry, and at least one (1) member from each of the following areas; Retail/Restaurant/Pres. of Chamber of Commerce or designee/Hospitality/State Fair Grounds/Medical/Parks & Recreation/Historical/Arts & Entertainment and 4 at large residents. (1-MYC member not apptd. by council for 1yr term) Terms will be for three years. Pursuant to the 1988 City of Springfield Code of Ordinances, Ch 33 Sec 33.002(d) No person shall be appointed to an office for more than three consecutive terms.
