Branch Pickup

    City-Wide Branch Collection

The City of Springfield's residential fall branch pickup begins Monday, October 7, 2019. The fall pickup schedule is pre-set and crews will work in specified areas of the city each week. Each neighborhood will have ONE pickup. Below is the entire fall branch pickup schedule lasting four weeks.

    2019 Fall Branch Pickup Schedule

All branches must be placed at the curb by 7:00 a.m. of the pick-up week in order to insure collection.
Week of October 7
  • Northwest Area – Walnut Street to Elle Court and Pulliam Road to South Grand Avenue.
Week of October 14
  • Southwest Area - Walnut Street to Old Bachelor Trail and Old Jacksonville Road to Mansion Road (Piper Glenn Subdivision)
Week of October 21
  • Southeast Area – Hilltop Road (Timberlane East Subdivision) to Walnut Street and South Grand Avenue to East Lake Shore Drive (Hunting Meadows Subdivision).
  • Southeast Area – Properties around Lake Springfield.
Week of October 28
  • Northeast Area – Walnut Street to J. David Jones Parkway and Kamm Road to South Grand Avenue.

    Resident Instructions

The City of Springfield will pick up branch piles from residents:

  • No larger than 3 foot in height, 4 foot in depth, and 10 feet in length;
  • Piles larger than a small pick up load will not be picked up by the city;
  • The program is for branches only, no logs will be accepted
  • Branches/limbs trimmed by a commercial contractor will not be picked up; and
  • Branches must be placed on the curb not obstructing the street or sidewalk.
  • Small branches may be broken up and put into yard waste bags for pickup by your waste hauler.
  • Branches are not allowed on boulevards.

    Residential Branch Drop Off

Residents may drop off branches to Evans Recycling with proof of residency until the end of March 2020. This service is not for commercial contractors but for city residents only. Evans Recycling is located at 2100 J. David Jones Parkway and is open Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 12-noon. Contact number is 217.391.0886.

    Branch Piles Are NOT Considered Yard Waste

As a reminder, the city's branch pickup is a DIFFERENT program from the city’s yard waste pickup program that is now until December 31. The branch pickup program only occurs twice a year.
